Why follow Yummy Reservations (and Delightful Destinations)? 

It’s about drowning out all the busyness of the day/week and realizing life is more than waking up every day and going to work or doing your normal routine.  It’s looking for experiences, savoring every little thing that you find on your adventures.  It’s all about planning your adventures, even when they don’t end up being what you had anticipated– and enjoying it anyway. It may sound silly, but starting “Yummy Reservations” brought to life that passion of both writing combined with enjoying adventures, which happens to include some great restaurants and fun destinations.

Through creating this blog I realized my passion, and it began with just going out to dinner.  And then I discovered that I love sharing it with others.  And then I discovered it’s more than just going out to dinner or travelling somewhere that’s interesting and fun.  It’s about the desire to share with others a piece of myself.  It’s enjoying great food, but also meeting new people and spending time with the man I love.

Recently, as you will read in one of my most recent blogs, I discovered that Yummy Reservations should include Delightful Destinations.  Over the years, my husband and I have stayed in some wonderful Bed & Breakfasts offering more comfortable and intimate accommodations than many hotels.  It’s a great way to travel and meet interesting people. Sometimes my hubby and I want just to get away and be alone – I think that’s what keeps our marriage of 42 years fresh, alive and still loving each other.

You’ll find most of my discoveries occur in the Mid-Atlantic region because that’s where I live and work.  But you’ll also learn that I adore the occasional adventure farther afield.

So why should you follow me?  If you want to “escape”, even for only an evening and experience some things other than just getting up every day and doing the same routine – hop on my “wagon” and come along for the ride.  I’m anxious to hear about your favorite escapes, which will help me continue to plan even more adventures.  Thanks for travelling along with me!
